Outreach and Collaborations
Consultant, Irish Department of Foreign Affairs (2019-2021): Worked with the Consulates General and Honorary Consulates General in Atlanta, New Orleans, Charlotte, and Charleston to provide historical context, timeline, and details of Éamon de Valera’s tour of the Southern United States in 1919 and 1920, in preparation for events to mark the tour’s centenary.
Non-Peer Reviewed Article, Irish Department of Foreign Affairs (2020): “Éamon de Valera in Charlotte: The Cradle of American Sinn Féin,” published online by the Consulate General of Ireland, Atlanta. Events marking the centenary of the Southern tour were postponed or canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This article was planned to be an invited talk at the Irish Consulate in Atlanta, but was instead edited to a written piece published online.
