Irish America & the American South

As an incoming PhD student at UNC Greensboro, my research focuses on Irish Americans organizing for the Friends of Irish Freedom in the U.S. South during the Irish Revolution (1912-1923).

I am interested in how Irish American Southerners during this period viewed themselves & their place in history: as American, as Southern, and as Irish.

With a particular interest in public history, my goal is to enrich local histories in the South, and to broaden the story of American impact on the Irish Revolution.
